Why do you need Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage

14% of the driving population is uninsured (Insurance Research Council).  This percentage does not include the additional percentage of the population who purchase minimal insurance and are underinsured.  This coverage allows you to recover bodily injury damages caused by an accident where the at-fault party has no insurance at all, or has inadequate liability limits.
